WARSTARS @ Music Millenium
N.W. 23rd location
* * *
This was to be the last Warstars show for another two years. Owen
wasn't able to show up and play, as he was in the hospital with
a hole in his lung (from a "chronic" cough).
Andy and Amanda were determined that the show still go on, as it
had been well publicized on 94.7 KNRK the month before.
That's when Andy asked his neighbor Jordan if he could fill in on
drums. Although Jordan was more of a Deadhead than a Warhead, he
immediately stepped up to the challenge. Then, out of nowhere, music
millenium called Andy and switched the dates up giving the Warstars
date to Five For Fighting because they were big at the time.
Fuck that shit!
A week later, on a Saturday afternoon that wasn't publicized,
the Warstars rocked inside a record store populated by, like, three
shoppers. A music store clerk cut Warstars off after only 20 minutes.
This seemed very, very lame, considering it had taken Andy Warstar
months of calls and demos to get the gig.
To end on a positive note, the show was recorded and the songs,
though not the tightest versions ever played, are crackling with
raw energy. This show is dedicated to Owen, who eventually healed.
Thanks to everybody who made the show great!
