Warstars @
Jamba Juice
Tanasbourne, OR
* * *
Summer was well
under way. Cody Pendant had decided to go off and jam with some
other guys, and Andy was ready to play gigs again.
Andy Warstar called up Agent Smith, but Smith wasn't home. Instead,
he gets Owen, Smith's younger brother, on the phone instead. Owen
says his been taking drum lessons, and that he'd be up for jamming.
Meanwhile, Andy was giving his friend Amanda bass lessons. Andy
asked Amanda if she wanted to play bass with Warstars, and she said
that since her roommates were moving out, that Warstars could practice
at her house.
After a few more phone calls, Andy Warstar had four Warstars gigs
lined up for the summer. Owen soon got hold of a camcorder with
16 bit digital sound quality, and Warstars would end up recording
the entire summer's worth of shows this way.

The crowd at Jamba Juice was small, but enthusiastic. The Warheads
kept yelling "When are you gonna start?" and after the
band started they were yelling "Jewel! Play some Jewel!"
Huh?
Andy rocked the first 13 songs on lead guitar, and then jumped on
drums while Owen took over lead guitar and crooned on "Creep"
and "Santa Ria". Andy then picked up the bass while
Amanda sang the last two songs. The cops showed up to harass everyone
about sound levels, and Warstars got it all on tape.
In a way, this
was Andy Warstar's dream gig: hot high-school chicks serving the
band free juice, and no cigarette smoke to irritate Andy's asthma.
Ah yeah.
