WARSTARS @ Satyricon
The Best Venue
In Portland, OR
Thankyou Satyricon!
* * *
This was to be the final Warstars show with Adam Ion. There had
been "creative differences" building up for quite
a while. Andy Warstar was quoted as saying "You can't play
punk rock with people that aren't 'punk rock'."
Regardless of the inner tension within the band, the show was great
anyway. Some of the greatest punk bands of all time have played
the Satyricon, and that really helped bring out the best in the
Warstars...
The Warstars
set flowed pretty well, except for Bolenbaugh interupting Andy's
introductions of each song with loud drunken outbursts in faux germanic.
It was as funny as it was annoying. The Warstars all got pretty
soused, including the sound guy who did a bang up job. He also really
enjoyed the music.
The Warstars
rocked "BBOM" which is available on Warstars.net
downloads page. Warstars performed "The Wasp" for
the sound check and that also kicked butt. Overall, it was a good,
wholesome way to spend a monday evening.
